Oliver Wegmüller is a Finnish composer based in Helsinki, known for his work on the Cannes-nominated OTHER HALF; BAFTA-shortlisted STORIES OF YOU AND I, starring Academy Award nominee Sir Jonathan Pryce (The Crown, The Two Popes); and the Jussi-nominated BLUE NOTE, starring Alma Pöysti (Fallen Leaves).
His work spans film and television, combining traditional scoring practices with modern production techniques, and his approach to composition and storytelling is rooted in experimentation.
His recent credits include music for Fire Monkey's six-part thriller-drama
PARANTAJA (Elisa Viihde, Ruutu+), whose score was nominated by Teosto and Gramex for “Vuoden Musiikkioivallus”(Music Innovation of the Year);
Disney+ and Marcus Anthony Thomas’ SPACE PLUG, which premiered at
BFI London Film Festival; Söder Films’ period thriller series
HALLONBACKEN (YLE FEM, SVT, NRK, DR); and Komeetta’s coming-of-age series LINDAN HUONE (YLE TV2).
Before relocating to Helsinki, Oliver spent nearly a decade as a session musician in London, performing everywhere from BBC Maida Vale Studios to the Royal Albert Hall, sharing the stage with Paul Simon.
A graduate of the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance and the UK's National Film and Television School, he continues to explore new approaches to composition and production, creating music that serves the narrative and emotional core of each project.
